BikerMonkey Extreme Genesis Challenge, March 30, 2013
Benefits: Genesis Womens Shelter, Dallas
The BikerMonkey Extreme Genesis Challenge is a SaddleSore, BunBurner or BunBurner Gold ride to raise funds and awareness for the Genesis Women’s Shelter, a non-profit organization in Dallas, Texas.
Mission Statement for Genesis Women’s Shelter
Genesis Women’s Shelter sums it up better than I can:….”To end the epidemic of domestic violence against women and children by stopping individual victimization and reducing the devasting impact of family violence through safety, shelter and expert services to battered women and their children. We are committed to preventing violence by raising the level of community awareness regarding the pervasiveness and effects of domestic violence.”
History of Genesis Women’s Shelter
Go read the History of Genesis Women’s Shelter, it will blow you away man. Honestly, I can’t think of a better organization to put the rubber to the road for; they are obviously doing it in their own way.
The 1,000 mile route will be absolutely crazy beautiful! You will go to Little Rock, Arkansas, then west towards Fort Smith and north up I540 to Joplin, Missouri then over to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and back to Bass Pro, Grapevine, Texas. This is the first chance of the season to get out and straighten some curves and get some fresh air!
The 1,500 mile ride will take you right into blue suede shoes and rock-n-roll territory! This route is to Nashville, Tennessee to Birmingham, Alabama and back to Bass Pro, Grapevine, Texas. You may even have a few minutes to enjoy some good old southern home style cooking if you manage your time right.

This BikerMonkey ride is different than most. First of all, you can earn two certificates this time, rather than just the Iron Butt Association certification. That’s right, your registration of $50.00 as a rider or $25.00 as a passenger will qualify you once you successfully complete the ride a BikerMonkey certificate and rider’s pin! Of the gross proceeds, 50% will be donated on your behalf to Genesis Women’s Shelter and 10% of the total proceeds will be going to the Big Guy’s house..
This ride will also qualify you for a SaddleSore, BunBurner or BunBurner Gold certification, however, this is an additional $50.00; which is IBA’s cost for processing not ours. If there are any price breaks given based on number of riders from the $50.00 registration, we will include 100% of the difference to Genesis Women’s Shelter as additional funds raised. If you choose to qualify for the SaddleSore, BunBurner or BunBurner Gold, then simply include this payment with your registration and we will take care of all of the paperwork for you and submit it on your behalf. You will in turn receive the IBA certification, pin and IBA backplate once IBA has qualified the ride details.
Anyone is eligible to ride the SaddleSore or BunBurner (1,500 miles in 36 hours), but you must be an IBA member to participate in the BunBurner Gold (1,500 miles in 24hours) to receive credit from Iron Butt Association. It just helps prove you are already a little crazy, LOL…..
Let’s recap shall we?
We are talking for $100.00, you get….. 2 certifiicates, 2 riding pins and a license backplate.
Or for $50.00, you get…. a very cool BikerMonkey Certifiicate and a riding pin.
Either way you go, you get awesome fellowship with some crazy extreme biker peeps, bragging rights and self satisfaction that you have helped a great group and lots of awesome women and children!

Just noticed, people are going to need to be hoofing it. With KSU 3am 1000 milers should be back by 6pm-11pm. Next morning is Easter event at Strokers.
Good morning Chris. The registration / check-in is from 3:00 to 3:45 AM and KSU 4:00 AM. Yeah, I realized or was informed that Easter was the same weekend, however, it is hard to change times or dates after events have been announced. One more thing to add to the Event Checklist, look for holidays, LOL….. Personally, I would just assume see folks go to church and spend time with their families than ride. Church On The Bike is a great option! I trust it is all going to work out the way it is suppose to at the end of the day.
I ‘m not too worried though, both are worth doing. I don’t see an issue with getting to do both, provided I manage my stops better. I noticed I am lolly gagging a tad on the gas stops and it is costing me.
Gas, Potty, Water and GO! 10 Minutes…….
